 FARES AND TICKETS

The public transport tariff is valid on all metro, tram, bus, funicular and ferries.

Ticket vending machines are installed in all metro stations, selected surface transit stops and selected tobacconists and wholesalers sell individual tickets. The period of validity starts at the moment of stamping the ticket and expires after the elapse of an appropriate time interval.

An alternative to classical paper ticket is a SMS ticket service (by sending text of DPT24 or DPT32 to the number 902 06). So far the tickets can be bought this way only from phones registered with one of the local operators.

The tickets are randomly controlled by the Transit Inspection. CZK 1000 is the basic surcharge for passenger transport without a valid transit document, which is reduced to CZK 800, if it is paid at the point of inspection or no later than the 15th calendar day from the day of inspection.
